feedback on RestorationPlan

The landscape of Cockington has been shaped by its inhabitants for the last thousand years. Our task now is to protect its special qualities – like the orchards that once filled the valleys with blossom and the autumn days with the bustle of cider-making.

We are working to restore Cockington’s traditional character, with the help of research funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and with the help of the local community. A booklet titled “Caring for Cockington” sets standards for maintaining the village and estate and this is available from us, please contact the main office.

Lanscombe House Hotel and Tearooms is in the village.

Cockington is home to Torbay's only Woodland Burial Site - part of Conqueror Wood, an 18 acre woodland planted in 2005 to celebrate the Battle of Trafalgar 200 celebrations.
