| The Trust welcomes visitors with disabilities. However, the nature of our sites means that access can often be a problem. If you would like information about a particular site, it might be best to phone the site direct – the numbers are listed below. The following Frequently Asked Questions might help with some queries in the meantime.

Parking at Cockington Court
The car park at the rear of Cockington Court is the closest to the Court. It is free to Torbay Council Blue Badge holders and there is a reduced rate for other registered disabled users.

How can I get to Cockington Court from Cockington village?
The main village car park has designated disabled bays. In summer, when the ground is dry, you can come up to Cockington Court along the boardwalk to the left of The Drum Inn. This entrance is unsuitable for large electric scooters. Higher Lodge Car Park (owned by the Trust) is free to Torbay Council Blue Badge holders. From this car park, there is a slope before you get the main entrance to the park at Higher Lodge. Come up the main drive to the Court.
How can I get around Cockington Country Park?
The Trust has an electric buggy available for hire. There is a £5 deposit and a £1 hire charge. The buggy is available from the Trust Visitor Centre in Cockington village. To book the buggy, phone 01803 690495.
What about inside Cockington Court?
The ground floor of the Court can be accessed through the front door. Access to the first floor for wheelchairs is through the Rose Garden.
What about The Ark Play Area at Cockington?
The Ark is unique, having been built to be used by children with disabilities and their non-disabled friends and family. The play area’s equipment includes a basket swing, wheelchair see-saw, wide slide for children and carers, water pumps, burning stone and lots more. To visit The Ark, park in Cockington Court Rear Car Park (please note the path up to The Ark is uphill and uneven and might prove difficult for self-propelled wheelchairs).
How can I get information in a suitable format?
Many of our leaflets can be produced in large print on request.
