Join us for walk through time at Berry Head National Nature Reserve, a key site for the UNESCO Global Geopark with stunning wildlife, amazing plants and more recent incredible history to share which can all be linked to back to our extraordinary geology.
This unique event will be led by the very knowledgeable local historian Philip Armitage who will introduce the site and its importance to UNESCO designation and guide you through a fascinating period in time featuring the Napoleonic military and archaeological history of our Berry Head Forts.
This event will include an exclusive guided walk of the Berry Head Forts plus an informative presentation delivered by Philip.
Please note: Minimum age 12 years and no dogs please. Remember to dress for the weather! Berry Head is an exposed location so wearing layers is recommended plus sturdy footwear as the limestone can be slippy underfoot. The route will be fairly level but there is a slight incline towards the South Fort and there will be limited opportunity to sit down throughout moving tour, so reasonable level of mobility and stamina to stand is required.
