Come and join one of our volunteers as they lead you around Berry Head National Nature Reserve.
This walk will give you amazing insight into what makes Berry Head so special. Not only is Berry Head a National Nature Reserve & Site of Special Scientific Interest, it is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument which falls within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is part of both the UNESCO English Riviera Global Geopark and South Hams Special Area of Conservation surrounded by one of the UK first Marine Conservation Zone.
An opportunity to see all the usual residents, from flowering flora, circling seabirds, shy porpoise, showboating dolphins to a human history that dates back 6500 years, although our story starts a lot, lot earlier indeed at 400 million years!
We try to cram all of this into a 90 minute walk around the site. Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather and good walking footwear.
The walk begins promptly at 10:30am or 2pm and our volunteers can accommodate the first ten people to arrive.
Meeting point: Visitor Centre
Suitable for: 12 years and over
Additional information: Maximum capacity is 10 people, no need to book in advance.
