Occombe Farm is thrilled to announce that it has been named Runner-Up in the ‘Best Family Half Day Out’ category in the 2024 Primary Times Devon Star Awards. These prestigious awards celebrate the very best family-friendly attractions, as voted for by local families across Devon.
After a five-year hiatus, the Primary Times Devon Star Awards returned to recognise the top destinations for families with children aged 4 to 11yrs. With thousands of votes cast, the awards provide an authentic insight into the venues and activities most loved by families in the region.
Hayley Berry, Commercial Manager at Occombe Farm, shared her delight:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to receive this recognition in the Primary Times Devon Star Awards! Being a relatively new attraction in Paignton—nearing our third anniversary—makes this accolade even more special. Devon is home to so many incredible places to visit, and with such strong competition, we’re truly grateful to everyone who has supported us and taken the time to vote. This award is a wonderful reflection of the love and enthusiasm our visitors have for Occombe Farm.”
Occombe Farm has quickly established itself as a must-visit family destination, offering a unique mix of farm experiences, unique indoor and outdoor play, animal encounters , a paddocks trail and nature trail too. In addition there is a popular farm café and shop. This recognition reflects the farm’s commitment to providing engaging and memorable experiences for families throughout the year.
The results of the Primary Times Devon Star Awards will be officially published in the February edition of Primary Times Devon, distributed to families across the region from Monday 3rd February 2025.
What makes a visit to Occombe Farm even more special is that funds raised contribute to the work of Occombe’s parent conservation charity, Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust. This local charity is dedicated to conserving nearly 80% of Torbay’s green spaces, including Cockington Country Park, Berry Head National Nature Reserve, and numerous wildlife-friendly woodlands, meadows, pathways, and bridleways.
