Our Education Team is dedicated to creating an unforgettable, action-packed residential experience for your school. Here’s a glimpse of what a stay with us might look like:
Day One: Adventure Begins
- 9:30 AM – Arrival at Occombe Farm: Upon arrival, our team will transport the students’ bags to Warren Barn, allowing them to start their day worry-free.
- 10:00 AM – Farm to Fork Pizza Making: Students dive into a hands-on pizza-making session at our Cookery School. They’ll gather fresh toppings from our community garden and create their own pizzas from scratch. These will be delivered to the barn for a delicious dinner later.
- 12:00 PM – Packed Lunches
- 12:30 PM – Den Building in the Woods: In this team-building exercise, students will unleash their creativity and teamwork skills by constructing shelters in the scenic woods of Occombe Farm.
- 2:30 PM – Guided Walk to Warren Barn: Our rangers will lead a guided walk through the woods to Warren Barn. Once there, we’ll help students settle in. The barn offers a private courtyard and access to Cockington Court’s beautiful green spaces, perfect for evening games and activities. As night falls, gather around the campfire to reflect on the day’s adventures.
Day Two: Skills and Teamwork
- 9:30 AM – Orienteering & Navigation at Cockington Court: Students will head to the picturesque grounds of Cockington Court for a fun orienteering session. They’ll learn essential map-reading and navigation skills while working together to complete the course, finding markers along the way.
- 12:00 PM – Lunch at the Barn
- 12:30 PM – Fire Craft Session: After an active morning, students will enjoy a calming afternoon learning fire-lighting techniques. They’ll gather wood and work in small groups to ignite flames using flint and steel, culminating in a marshmallow toasting session around the campfire.
Day Three: Farm Fun
- 9:30 AM – Occombe Farm Animal Session: The final day starts with a guided walk back to Occombe Farm, where students will have a chance to meet and interact with our farm animals. This fun-filled morning is a rewarding end to their residential experience.
- Lunch & Play: Students can enjoy their packed lunches and have some playtime in our indoor and outdoor play areas before heading home.
